we're all basket-cases....

well that change i alluded to before has come about. we are moving again. this time we are moving right into downtown vancouver. chinatown/strathcona to be exact. it's got real community spirit and family services, fantastic parks, etc. my husband can walk to work in 20 minutes. i'm excited about being around all the creativity as this is primarily the area of the city where artists live and work. once upon a time the gorgeous century old heritage houses in strathcona were dirt cheap. rent used to be cheap here also. not anymore sadly. we are moving into a townhouse that is part of a coop. my hub and i used to live and work in coop's, we are very familar with the consensus model. we are very excited to have an outdoor courtyard and two balconies. we are spoiled with space there. i am beside myself that i finally have a room of my own for a studio. so we only have a few days left to pack as we move next weekend. this heat is making me really glad we are leaving. who's bright idea was it to live in a small apartment with gigantic west-facing windows? oh yeah it was mine. oops.

i probably won't be blogging again until after we settle in. so i will leave with a few of my favourite things from the last little while...

a gorgeous issue of cabinet...

seeing our friend sean and his co-pilot together...

as i pack i'm finding gifts from my beautiful laureen that i've forgotten about...

and this, are they not utterly beautiful?, thank you laureen!...

How thrilling... a move! Plus a whole heap of work & organising... hope it all goes smoothly for the three of you. And a room all of your own!
take care, gracia
(Oh, and I love the cover photograph on Cabinet... I've never heard of it before.)
