i had forgotten how inspiring kiki smith's work was to look at. i had not seen her work in a long while. wow, i still love it. especially her drawings and etchings. gorgeous stuff, i wish i could have seen the exhibition at moma.

time flies

i certainly didn't expect to be away from this journal for so long. life is happening at what seems like warp speed. laundry, naps(or trying to nap),cooking and dishes are all blurring into each other. oliver had his first full on flu, and survived pretty much un-scathed. he is now very into whatever i'm doing, which means no computer for me unless i feel like having the moniter pulled down into my lap.

some very exciting things on the art front for me. i will be having a show in a vancouver area gallery next july and possible another show is in the works. i'm very excited about this and am really enjoying the drawings that i've been working on.

i've also joined an artist community group that gets together monthly to support each others goals. every month we have a different topic; grant writing, artist workshops, proposals for group shows, etc. there is a good range of experience and our facilitator has considerable experience in every aspect of the arts both local and internationally. this is going to be very good for me. it will help push me to do things i don't necessarily like to do or have experience doing.

i've updated my main website with a whole new look and selected works section. and finally i'm making handmade objects and selling prints of my works online at this wonderful artsy/crafty site called etsy. the link is also above on the right.
