I live in Vancouver where I make mixed-media art including pen and ink
drawings, paintings, printmaking, handmade books, and photography. Since
1999, my work has been exhibited at galleries and artist-run centers in
Canada and the United States.

Throughout my work, I take inspiration from the natural world around me. I
pay particular attention to the place where the land and sea meet, spending
much of my time carefully observing these areas in and around Vancouver and
Vancouver Island. The colours and textures of the coast help to inform my
work literally and abstractly. After the birth of my first child in 2004, I
have focused on a series of drawings that evoke the theme of the vessel.
Environmental issues are paramount in both theme and practice.

Born in Victoria, BC, I studied at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and
Design, receiving a BFA in 2000. Exposure to art, design, and music from
many cultures at an early age has fed my desire to create and continually
explore different media.
